The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for maintaining / increasing sales volume with existing and new accounts for UR’s portfolio of collaborative robots and services. Located in Brazil, the Business Development Manager will be accountable for executing assigned sales goals and sales plans within a designated sales territory. The BDM will work proactively with appropriate division management and related support departments to ensure on time customer service needs are met or exceeded. This is a remote position working from your home office in São Paulo.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sales goals/quotas in assigned territory

  • Hunt for new sales opportunities and once qualified/validated introduce them to the local UR distributor

  • Drive KPIs and action plans to achieve the annual target. Develop countermeasures to get back to budget if behind.

  • Manage opportunity funnel, forecasting and action plans

  • Canvas, initiate, qualify sales leads, and follow through to ensure a solid sales funnel with distributors

  • Participate in joint visits with distributor’s sales reps to end-users and integrators

  • Represent company at tradeshows and other professional activities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace

  • Must be capable of overnight travel up to 50% of time; or as required.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering (electrical or mechanical preferred) or related subject

  • 3-5 years of experience in outside sales

  • Must have proven track record of exceeding sales quota

  • Experience working with distribution

  • Previous experience in industrial automation, solution/project sales involving technical products

  • Strong sense of understanding of the value proposition to end-users

  • Business acumen that can be applied at different levels of decision makers from senior management to technical support

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.

  • Fluent Portuguese and English are mandatory, Spanish is desirable.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

    TASKS

  • Identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.

  • Formulate, direct, or coordinate marketing activities or policies to promote products or services, working with advertising or promotion managers.

  • Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, or return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.

  • Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.

  • Compile lists describing product or service offerings.

  • Direct the hiring, training, or performance evaluations of marketing or sales staff and oversee their daily activities.

  • Consult with product development personnel on product specifications such as design, color, or packaging.

  • Use sales forecasting or strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.

  • Negotiate contracts with vendors or distributors to manage product distribution, establishing distribution networks or developing distribution strategies.

  • Coordinate or participate in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or production managers, to market products or services.

  • Initiate market research studies or analyze their findings.

  • Confer with legal staff to resolve problems, such as copyright infringement or royalty sharing with outside producers or distributors.

  • Consult with buying personnel to gain advice regarding the types of products or services expected to be in demand.

  • Consult with buying personnel to gain advice regarding environmentally sound or sustainable products.

  • Conduct economic or commercial surveys to identify potential markets for products or services.

  • Recommend modifications to products, packaging, production processes, or other characteristics to improve the environmental soundness or sustainability of products.

  • Advise business or other groups on local, national, or international factors affecting the buying or selling of products or services.

  • Select products or accessories to be displayed at trade or special production shows.

  • Develop business cases for environmental marketing strategies.

  • Integrate environmental information into product or company marketing strategies, policies, or activities.
