The Visual C++ Static Analysis Team is looking for a senior software engineer to help take this already talented and capable team to even higher levels of productivity benefits for our customers. The team is responsible for developing core static analysis engines used in the Visual Studio IDE productivity experiences as well as the traditional security tooling scenarios used around the company. The team also plays a critical role in leading efforts towards making C++ a safer systems programming language.

In this senior software engineer role, you will help deliver compelling features for the code analysis engines in Visual Studio on a regular basis. You will also get exposed to internal platform teams (Windows, SQL, Office, XBOX) and develop compelling technical solutions to problems. This role also requires great focus with external customers, helping deliver on their needs for higher developer productivity.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

• o OR equivalent experience.

• 2+ years of development experience in static analysis tools and software, preferably using C or C++.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python o OR equivalent experience.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
