We are seeking a mid-level electromagnetics simulation engineer to join the Digital Engineering team in Japan. This engineer/physicist/mathematician will research and develop technology in Electromagnetic Effects (EME) analysis (digital engineering, modeling & simulation) and design for application across the Boeing global enterprise. Areas of focus include: lightning direct and indirect effects, material characterization to electrical effects (high voltage, high current), static charge and relaxation, electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic/radio frequency interference, and multi-physics interactions (heating, material phase changes, structural damage from lightning, etc.). Depending on skills, the engineer will develop software tools for the creation or solving of EM models, or perform trades using EM solvers to validate and document methods and designs. Most work is at the airplane level, or structural sub-components that characterize those.

This position is part of the BR&T Digital Engineering Global Center. It includes more than 150 engineers from around the world working on targeted research and functional support projects.

This position is based in Nagoya and is an open-ended contract.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

  • Experience with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects) requirements and methods

  • Experience in the use of computational electromagnetic modeling (CEM) methods

  • Experience scripting and/or compiled languages: Python, MATLAB, C/C++, JAVA

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Experience:

  • Must have had a continuous or combined break in employment lasting at least 12 months.

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in physics, electrical engineering, or aerospace

  • Experience with lightning direct effects, lighting in-direct effects, or HIRF

  • Experience in the development of CEM software applications

  • Experience with the software development processes

  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools

  • Experience with Multi-disciplinary Analysis and Optimization (MDAO) concepts and tools

  • Experience defining EME requirements

  • Flexibility to learn and work across a variety of aerospace technologies and applications

  • Proven ability to collaborate productively in multidiscipline teaming environments.

  • For native Japanese language speakers, English translation support can be provided for interview stage only.

Boeing Japanでは、国内のデジタルエンジニアリングチームにおける electromagnetics simulation engineer を募集しています。本ポジションのエンジニアは、電磁効果 (EME) 解析技術 (デジタル エンジニアリング、モデリング、シミュレーション) を研究開発し、ボーイング社のグローバル全体へ適用できるような設計を行っていただきます。

具体的な対象領域は下記となります。

・雷の直接的および間接的な影響

・電気的影響(高電圧、高電流)に対する材料の特性評価

・静電気の帯電と緩和

・電磁適合性

・電磁/無線周波数の干渉

・マルチフィジックス相互作用(加熱、材料の相変化、 落雷などによる構造的損傷)

スキルに応じ EM モデルの作成や解決のためのソフトウェア ツールを開発、EM ソルバーを使用して取引を実行し、手法や設計を検証および文書化いただきます。 ほとんどの作業は飛行機やそれらを特徴付ける構造的なサブコンポーネントレベルのものとなります。

本ポジションは、特定の領域に絞った研究やFunctional Support Projectに携わっているBR&T デジタル エンジニアリング グローバル センターの一部となり、全世界で 150 名を超えるエンジニアが活躍しています。

名古屋での勤務となり、正社員ポジションとなります。

必須スキル:

• 12ヵ月以上のキャリアブレイクをお持ちの方 (直近ご就業されていない方で復職を希望される方)

• 工学、コンピューターサイエンス、数学、または物理学における学士号、修士号、または博士号
