Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Controls and Commissioning Manager to join our Buildings and Places (B+P) group in our Atlanta, GA office. This position will design state of the art building level controls and will also be co-leading commissioning teams on complex projects all around the United States and Work with NASA, FAA, and NAVY. This is a hybrid position.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and grow a team to be the center of excellence for control design and system commissioning for AECOM’s east region

  • Coordinate with other commissioning agents in the buildings and places east region to understand resources required and project pursuits

  • Support the Mechanical Engineer with the development of control sequences, diagrams, and points lists for mechanical and electrical building systems

  • Support design team with division 23 and 25 controls and cyber security technical specifications

  • Design control system architecture using a variety of technologies including ethernet, fiber optic networks, radio, and VPN

  • Design control system which will allow clients to achieve their “Smart City” goals

  • Develop datasheets for process instrumentation and PLC/network control systems hardware

  • Prepare detailed control narrative for full plant operation

  • Develop detailed drawings to convey the design

  • Verify compliance with applicable US codes and engineering standards/practices

  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed

  • Work flexible hours to attend project meetings/calls

  • Be detail-oriented and technical yet experienced enough to see the big picture.

  • Schedule and meet budget expectations

  • Multi-task and be flexible, along with ability to adapt to project deadlines

  • Have passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Electrical, Mechanical + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Four years of work experience as an I&C Engineer or controls contractor creating controls submittals

  • Experience with different BAS & PLC/network control system platforms

  • U.S. Citizen due to nature of work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with government projects

  • Experience with US codes and standards

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, etc

  • Experience with “Smart” building automation systems

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $106,800.34 - $197,580.63.
