Description

ACI FEDERAL is seeking a Surgical Technologist for our customer in Tacoma, Washington .This position is located in Washington State.

This position offers health, dental, vision and life insurance; paid time off.

The position is eligible for a $20,000 sign on bonus and up to $10,000 in relocation assistance.

This role involves performing a comprehensive range of sterile techniques, including setting up surgical trays, preparing patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative care. Responsibilities encompass maintaining surgical packs, cleaning clinical spaces and equipment, promptly reporting events, and supporting surgical procedures in various complexities. The position entails caring for critically ill patients, ensuring a prepared operating room, safe patient transport, maintaining cleanliness, and responding to emergencies. Additionally, the role encompasses maintaining aseptic procedures, assisting during surgery, monitoring patients, organizing the post-surgery environment, and collaborating with the surgical team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs the full spectrum of sterile techniques, setting up surgical trays, preparing and daring patients for surgery, and assisting with post-operative dressings

  • Ensure surgical packs are cleaned and packed for sterilization after every procedure, to include restocking surgical supplies

  • Maintain a clean safe environment for the patient either by active participation in cleaning of clinical spaces, operating rooms, and medical equipment, or by guiding other personnel in the environmental maintenance

  • Immediately report events to the registered nurse or officer in charge and document notification

  • Support surgical procedures in the operating room, ranging from routine to complex or trauma cases, as a vital member of the surgical team

  • Care for critically ill patients, following preoperative plans and ensuring the operating room is ready for surgery

  • Safely transport patients to the operating room, ensuring preoperative requirements are met and providing comfort to anxious patients

  • Ensure clean operating rooms, set up equipment, anticipate surgeon's needs, and respond to emergencies, adapting quickly to individual patient situations

  • Maintain aseptic procedures, assist during surgery, monitor patients, and respond swiftly to complications, working seamlessly with the surgical team

  • Clean and organize the operating room post-surgery, manage supplies, perform basic equipment maintenance, and assist the Operating Room Nurse with supply management

  • Performs other duties as assigned and in accordance with this PWS

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work Schedule: Surgical Technologist: Normal duty hours for the positions shall be 0635- 1505, 1445- 2315 Monday thru Friday

The HCWs shall record the time worked and report time in accordance with customer's policy

Federal Holidays are considered work days.

All leave/ absences during normal work hours will be coordinated with and approved by the customer's Activity/ Department head/ supervisor

Position Surgical Technician

Position Requirements

One year of experience as a Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician required

Graduate from Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) for surgical technicians, surgical technologists or operating room technicians required

Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as a surgical technician and/or operating room technician required
